For HR Leaders, Business Owners & Managers

You Don’t Want a Theoretical Leadership Course.
You want your best people to stay.

Team Thryve is the 7-system framework that makes it stop. Built by the leaders who ran businesses at P&G, Coca-Cola bottling and British American Tobacco, and created P&G’s official people-development course, which ran for over a decade and trained 10,000+ P&G managers.

The Careers Behind Team Thryve

Employers, honors and institutions from James and Dalia’s careers. Team Thryve is the instructors’ own proprietary program, developed independently of the organizations named.

The Real Cost of Winging It
  • It starts with a calendar invite from your best person, titled “quick chat.” You know before you click.
  • It’s the new hire in month four who still needs everything explained twice.
  • It’s the meeting where you ask for input and hear the air conditioning.
  • It’s the follow-up you send because nobody else follows up.
  • It’s the conversation you’ve rehearsed three times and had zero times.

Replacing one employee costs one-half to two times their annual salary, an estimate Gallup calls conservative. Lose one $85,000 employee this year and you’re looking at $42,500 to $170,000 to replace them.

And most of it is avoidable: 52% of employees who quit say their manager or organization could have prevented it. About half of employees who left had no conversation about their job satisfaction with their manager or any leader in their final three months.

Source: Gallup, “This Fixable Problem Costs U.S. Businesses $1 Trillion”

You already knew it was expensive. What nobody told you: none of this is a talent problem. It’s a system problem. And nobody ever handed you the system.

The Method

7 Systems. 7 Things That Stop Happening.

The material comes from three decades of running businesses inside some of the world’s biggest companies. It’s the same material we teach when companies hire us to train their managers. Each system exists to end one of the moments above:

  1. Recruit Top Talentstops the hire who interviews well and performs badly
  2. Build Thriving Culturestops the room that goes quiet when you ask for input
  3. Onboard for Successstops the six-month flounder
  4. Improve Accountabilitystops you being the team’s alarm clock
  5. Develop Future Leadersstops your promotion being blocked because no one can replace you
  6. Lead with Emotional Intelligencestops the conversation you rehearse three times and never have
  7. Retain Top Performersstops the “quick chat” calendar invite
Who It’s For

Built for the Person Responsible for the Team

HR & People Leaders

You’re asked to “fix” managers without a program to hand them. This gives you one you can roll out and track, manager by manager.

Business Owners & Founders

You’ve grown past the point where you can personally manage everyone. The next stage runs on systems, not heroics.

New & Experienced Managers

You were promoted for being good at the work, then handed a team and no playbook. This is the playbook.

This is for you if:

  • You lead people, or you’re about to.
  • You want tools you can run this quarter, not theory to admire.
  • You’re willing to do the exercises with your real team.

It’s not for you if:

  • You’re looking for motivation rather than implementation.
  • You don’t manage people and don’t plan to.

The Instructors

Learn Directly From James and Dalia

No hired presenters. Between them, James and Dalia teach every system, and both answer questions on the live Q&A sessions.

James Michael Lafferty, seated in a dark suit, reviewing notes

James Michael Lafferty has coached Olympic athletes for four decades and held CEO roles at three multinationals. The method, he says, is the same.

James Michael Lafferty

Four-time Forbes Middle East Top 100 CEO  ·  Former CEO, Fine Hygienic Holding (2018–2025)

A young corporate fitness instructor walked into Procter & Gamble to run employee workouts. P&G recruited him into brand management, and over more than two decades James Michael Lafferty rose to GM and CEO-level roles across the company: P&G Poland & the Baltics, P&G Philippines, and P&G’s Near East business. In all, four continents and more than 35 countries. He went on to lead Coca-Cola’s bottling operations in West Africa, serve as CEO of British American Tobacco Philippines, and run Fine Hygienic Holding, the Dubai-based wellness group, as CEO from 2018 to 2025. Forbes Middle East put him on its Top 100 CEOs list four times: 2018, 2021, 2023 and 2024.

And through it all, he coached. A former powerlifting champion, James has developed Olympic athletes across four decades, among them Olympic silver medallist Lavonna Martin and Rio 2016 long jumper Marestella Torres. He met pole vaulter EJ Obiena as a high schooler in Manila and has been his coach and mentor ever since, as Obiena climbed to a world-class ranking and a fourth-place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Ask James what building champions and building companies have in common, and he’ll tell you: everything.

Dalia Feldheim, standing in a cream suit in her office

Dalia Feldheim spent 17 years at P&G. The teams she led on #LikeAGirl brought home 14 Cannes Lions and a Primetime Emmy.

Dalia Feldheim

Former CMO, Electrolux Asia  ·  Organizational psychologist (Executive Master’s, INSEAD)  ·  Founder, Flow Leadership Consultancy

In 2014, the world watched an Always campaign ask what it means to do something “like a girl.” At P&G, Dalia Feldheim led marketing teams behind that campaign. Under her leadership, their work won 14 Cannes Lions, including the first-ever Glass Lion, and a Primetime Emmy. Forbes later named it one of the 20 most memorable ads of the decade.

After 17 years at P&G and a seat as Chief Marketing Officer of Electrolux Asia, she turned to the science of teams: an Executive Master’s in organizational psychology from INSEAD; a book, Lead Like a Girl, with a foreword by Sheryl Sandberg; a TEDx talk; and an adjunct professorship at Singapore Management University, where she teaches why the best-performing teams are also the happiest.

The Curriculum

Inside the Program: All 7 Systems, Fully Mapped

By the end, you’ll know how to:

  • Run a hiring process that predicts performance instead of rewarding good interviewing.
  • Onboard new hires on a 30/60/90 structure that cuts ramp-up time.
  • Set expectations people commit to, so accountability stops meaning chasing.
  • Give feedback that changes behavior without creating resentment.
  • Spot and develop your future leaders before your competitors do.
  • Run stay interviews that catch your best people before they resign.

Here’s the full map, system by system:

1 Recruit Top Talent
  • Build a hiring process that predicts performance, not one that rewards good interviewing.
  • Spot the red flags résumés are written to hide.
2 Build a Thriving Culture
  • Install culture as a system without becoming the culture police.
  • The research-backed link between team climate and profitability.
3 Onboard for Success
  • Cut ramp-up time with a 30/60/90 structure new hires can actually follow.
4 Improve Accountability
  • Set expectations people commit to, so you stop chasing and start leading.
  • Feedback that changes behavior without creating resentment.
5 Develop Future Leaders
  • Identify high-potentials before your competitors do.
  • Delegate in a way that develops people instead of dumping on them.
6 Lead with Emotional Intelligence
  • Read and manage team dynamics under pressure.
  • Scripts and structure for the conversations you’ve been putting off.
7 Retain Top Performers
  • The real (non-salary) reasons your best people leave — and stay.
  • A stay-interview framework you can run this month.
